Advantages are special items that can be purchased with credits. They provide a benefit for the character that purchases them, as described in the individual advantage.
Advantages come in two varieties: Consumables and Permanent. Consumables are used instantly after being purchased, whereas Permanent advantages have a lasting effect. Note that the Credit costs listed below are the costs for buying those items outright from nothing, and are considered the base credit value for those items. For the Permanent items that have several grades (i.e. the Merchant membership), you will get a discount equal to 50% of the base value of the lower grade version when upgrading to a higher grade version.

Commendations
Advantages and Hardcore Characters
Hardcore Characters are able to purchase permanent advantages but not consumable advantages. (See picture below for reference) This is a really bad idea! As hardcore characters do not simply return to the tavern in shame when they die. They must be reset and nothing is kept.
Mechanics Note
The Timesink Emerald of Focus, Prismatic Watchman's Shard, and Dazzling Lootstone of Misdirection can be triggered more than once in the same trap instance.
